What is AdSense Approval period?
Applying for Google AdSense authorization is probably one of the first things you do if you have a Tistory or WordPress blog. You need to be approved to start earning ad revenue. Let’s talk about Adsense approval period based on my experience over the years.
AdSense approval timeframes vary
I have an experience running blogs on Naver, Tistory, Blogspot, and now WordPress.
I currently have a total of 5 blogs authorized for AdSense: 2 on Tistory which is controlled by Kakao group in Korea and 3 on WordPress.
I also have one WordPress blog that’s authorized for AdSense, and I have a subdomain that has AdSense ads on it, for a total of 6 blogs.
So how long have all those blogs been approved for AdSense?
It really does vary from person to person and blog to blog. Because of the wide range of AdSense approval timeframes, we can’t give you a hard and fast rule, but it’s better to have some idea than to apply blindly.
Tistory AdSense approval period
I started a Tumblr blog before I started a WordPress blog. It was very easy to get approved for AdSense.
I must have been young to get approved for AdSense for my WordPress blog because I got it so easily.
| Remarks | First post | Application Date | Approval Date | Number of posts | Number of rejections |
| Tistory1 | 21.11.04 | 21.11.21 | 21.11.23 | 19 | 0 |
| Tistory2 | 22.11.24 | 23.02.07 23.02.25 | 23.03.12 | 33 | 1 |
I’ve heard that AdSense approval is hard to come by, but I got my first T-story blog in one go, and that was only two days after applying.
The second story was rejected once, but it still took two weeks of AdSense approval, which is still on the short side.
I’ll talk about applying for AdSense approval for WordPress blogs in the future, but Tistory still seems to be on the side of getting approved for AdSense.
As a side note, the two blogs had one thing in common: they kept to a single theme, even when applying for AdSense approval.
AdSense approval period for WordPress blogs
And now begins my AdSense tale that I can’t listen to without tears. I’ve been approved for a total of three WordPress blogs, and one of them really caused me a lot of heartache.
WordPress Blog 1
The blog above submitted its first AdSense approval application on July 4, 2023 and was approved on June 14, 2024. That’s a total of 20 attempts and just over a year.
The shortest AdSense approval time for each application was a same-day rejection, and the longest was 20 days.
As you can see by looking at the Google Review Time column in the table above, for this blog, most of our submissions were answered within 10 days.
If you’re wondering how I coped with 19 rejections, check out my AdSense approval story below. I tried every trick in the book.
WordPress Blog 2
The second WordPress blog took a total of 5 months to get approved for AdSense, with a total of 7 attempts, which is a pretty short Google review period.
Most of the time, when I applied for AdSense approval, I received a response the next day. The last one, on August 28, 2024, I received three days later, on September 1.
I would say that the review period for this WordPress blog AdSense approval is almost a day.
WordPress Blog 3
This blog took the shortest total AdSense approval time of 3 months, but Google’s review time for each approval application was within 10 days, similar to the first blog.
In the case of this blog, after a total of 5 attempts, the application for approval on 7/30/24 was approved the next day, on the 31st.
My thoughts on the AdSense approval period
Based on our experience with five AdSense approvals, it took anywhere from two days to a total of a month for Tistory.
And for WordPress,it took about three months, five months, and a yearto get approved.
Google AdSense’s review period after each AdSense approval application is most often within 10 days, with the exception of certain blogs. It’s a case-by-case basis, but you should still expect to wait at least 10 days after approval.
Finalize
Today we’ve been talking about the AdSense approval period. How anxious are you waiting to hear back after applying for AdSense?
I know what it’s like to think it’s going to work this time because I’ve felt it more than anyone. I know my experience isn’t the answer, but I hope it helps to put your mind at ease as you wait after applying for AdSense approval.
We recommend that you do not apply for AdSense reauthorization immediately after receiving a rejection, but wait a while before applying. See the post below to learn why.
