Kmon E-book: Real-Life Review – What's the Result After a Month of Hard Work?
After developing an interest in online business, the next venture I tried after blog AdSense was creating an ebook. I knew absolutely nothing about it, but I dedicated myself to finishing the ebook within a month. I registered it on the Kmon platform, and it’s currently for sale. Now, I’ll share my honest review of the reality of selling ebooks on Kmon and how much revenue it actually generated.

Reasons for Taking on the E-book Challenge on the Kmon Platform
When I started my Tistory blog on Naver and saw even a little income coming in from it, I truly realized that you can make money online. The early 2020s were a time when so many people were trying
to earn money online—enough that even someone like me, who knew nothing, started a blog. After watching
a YouTube video about someone making money from e-books, I decided I should give it a shot too.
Once you create it and register it on the platform, there’s no additional work required, so I became convinced that this is truly a reliable source of automated income.
Back then, I never imagined I’d be writing this sad review about Kmon’s e-book reality.
1) The most challenging aspect of creating e-books
After watching a YouTube video about someone making money by creating an ebook, I had the idea, but taking the next step wasn’t easy. The main reason was that I couldn’t decide what to write about. I didn’t have any
special knowledge compared to others, nor did I have any particular hobbies or skills, so agonizing over what to write about actually took longer than the time it took to create the ebook itself.
I think this part is perhaps the most difficult aspect of making an ebook. I spent days stuck in a rut, thinking, “What makes me so special that someone would pay money to read my writing?” It was incredibly hard to make any progress.
Then, while watching a YouTube video, I suddenly heard the phrase “Beginners teaching absolute beginners.” Even though I’m a beginner myself, it made me think I should write about starting and running a blog. I
started writing because I figured I probably have more information than someone who wants to start a blog but doesn’t know how.
2) Tips for running Tistory alongside an existing Naver Blog
Like many others, I started my blogging journey with a Naver Blog. Later, I began using Tistory to monetize my blog and earn revenue from AdSense ads.
Back then, Tistory hadn’t yet announced its new advertising policy, so many people were curious about Tistory blogs.
Also, back then, there wasn’t as much information about WordPress as there is now, so when it came to blogging, it was either Naver or Tistory. I had my main job too, and running two blogs kept me incredibly busy.
Even so, I had consistently written early in the morning or late at night, and through that process, I began to develop my own know-how about what kind of content to write, where to post it, and at what frequency. I took
that as my core theme and wrote about how someone like me, with a full-time job, could efficiently manage multiple blogs. Once the topic was set, I completed my first 68-page ebook in just about two to three weeks.
3) Kmon Platform
I chose Kmon as the platform to register my completed ebook. Although I had finished writing the ebook content, I had to meet Kmon’s writing standards and approval criteria to register it on their platform.
My first submission was rejected, but after revising that part, I was able to gain approval from Kmon, which is known for being strict.

Kmon E-book Real-Life Review
Now, moving on to the part of my Kmon e-book reality review that you’re most curious about: the revenue aspect. I believe I uploaded my e-book to the Kmon platform around February 2023. As I write this now, roughly two years have passed.
Whenever I see videos on social media like YouTube Shorts or Instagram Reels claiming to make huge daily profits from e-books, I can’t help but think about my own e-book. But in my case, the results were the exact opposite. Over an
incredibly long period of two years, I had just one single sale. The total revenue was exactly 29,000 won. After deducting the Kmon commission, the actual amount is even less than that.
1) The position of my e-book on Kmon after two years

Every now and then, I log into the Kmon platform and check the blog, side hustle, and personal finance e-book categories to see if my e-book is still listed.
Currently, it’s on page 6 of that category. At that point, it’s safe to say it’s barely getting any exposure.
I’ve actually heard that 70% of all clicks on blog posts come from the first, second, and third posts on the first page of search engine results.
This isn’t even the first page—it’s page 6. So isn’t it more of a miracle that sales are happening at all?
Conclusion
Today, I shared my real-life experience with Kmon e-books. As I wrote, I ended up sharing more about the process of creating the e-book itself.
Although only one sale occurred, the experience of writing an ebook brought me far greater value.
It was the confidence gained from challenging myself in an unfamiliar field and seeing it through to the end. Even now, I have thoughts about a second and third ebook.
However, I should remember the failure of my first ebook and take a closer look at what was lacking in me and in my ebook.
I hope this won’t be a “Kmon E-book Reality Review” in the next e-book, so I’ll conclude here. Thank you for reading.
