Galaxy S24 FE Dual SIM Support Differences (Domestic vs. International)
The Galaxy S24 FE’s dual SIM support appears to differ based on international and domestic release standards. Internationally, it supports two nano SIM cards, while domestically, it supports one nano SIM card and eSIM. Let’s explore the differences in the Galaxy S24 FE’s dual SIM support.
Galaxy S24 FE Dual SIM Support Method
The Galaxy S24 FE offers three dual SIM support options as follows. It appears there are differences in the dual SIM support method depending on whether the Galaxy S24 FE is an international or domestic release model.
As far as I know, the Galaxy S24 FE purchased overseas is designed to accommodate two physical SIM cards, while the domestic release version supports one nano SIM + eSIM.
Galaxy S24 FE Dual SIM Support User Review
I live overseas, and to use Korean websites, I needed a Korean phone number. I purchased a budget SIM card and used two SIM cards—the budget SIM and a local SIM—inserted into the SIM card slots. My
previous Galaxy phone did not support eSIM. Then, I recently purchased a Galaxy S24 FE locally.
Galaxy S24 FE Dual SIM Insertion Process
The SIM card slot for the Galaxy S24 FE model is located at the top of the phone. You can use the pin included with the phone to eject the SIM tray.
The Galaxy S24 FE dual SIM support slot looks like this. When I first saw the SIM tray, I worried, ‘Oh no, can I only insert one SIM card?’ As explained earlier
, I was using both my Korean number and a local number.
The Galaxy S24 FE purchased overseas supports dual SIM cards via a physical nano SIM 1 and nano SIM 2, which can be inserted into the front and back of the tray. Simply insert the two physical SIM cards into the tray and reinsert it into the phone. A key advantage
of purchasing overseas is the ability to download and use an eSIM after inserting two physical SIM cards.
For someone like me who needs both a local and Korean number, it’s great to be able to download and immediately use an eSIM for another country when traveling there.
Galaxy S24 FE Dual SIM Setup Guide

You can easily change your local and Korean SIM card settings in your phone’s quick settings. Even if set to your local SIM card, you can still receive Korean phone verification texts. Since
I mainly use my Korean phone number for receiving verification codes, I use the cheapest budget mobile plan for Korea. It costs about 3,000 won per month.
If you’re wondering how to activate a Korean phone number while abroad, my post on how overseas residents can verify their mobile phones will give you a general idea of the process.
These days, verification often requires an ARS (automated response system) call, and some people may face the issue of being unable to receive ARS calls. If that’s you, checking out my post below should help you resolve the problem.
Change overseas resident SIM card to domestic SIM card
When I first pulled out the SIM tray to insert a SIM card into the Galaxy S24 FE, I was quite surprised to find there was only one slot. So I decided to get rid of my existing Korean phone number and download and install an eSIM instead.
However, I learned that even if you want to download and use a Korean eSIM, the initial activation can only be done through a domestic base station.
Ultimately, I learned from the representative’s response below that both converting an existing SIM card to an eSIM on a new phone and simply installing a new eSIM on a new phone are only possible within Korea.
Fortunately, I purchased the Galaxy S24 FE dual-SIM model overseas, which supports two physical SIM cards. This allowed me to use both SIM cards again without any special activation procedures.
Conclusion
Today, we looked at the differences in dual SIM support between the Galaxy S24 FE based on international and domestic release standards. For those purchasing overseas who need to use two SIM cards, the information above should be helpful.
However, for the domestic release, if you need to use two SIM cards, using an eSIM seems like a simpler solution. Since you’re in Korea anyway, activation should be straightforward.
