Creating Animated Videos from Photos (Using Hedra AI)
These days, AI technology has advanced so much that you can create a video that speaks using just a single photo. This time, I challenged myself to create a moving video from a photo using Hedra AI. It even speaks. I’ll show you the video I made and the process, so if you’re interested in trying it yourself, read on to the end.
Creating Animated Videos from Photos Using AI
Actually, you might not be all that surprised. These days, you can easily create videos just by writing text using AI technology.
First, the advantage of using Hedra AI technology is that you can create videos using photos you already have, or if you prefer, generate photos directly through the AI and then use those photos to make videos.
This is a video I made using Hedra’s website to create a moving image from a photo. It’s a bit awkward since it’s in Korean, but I think it could still be useful to sprinkle throughout YouTube videos.
To be objective, choosing English still makes one appear more professional in terms of language selection.
Process for Creating Animated Videos from Photos
1) Sign up for the Hedra website

I’m also aware of several websites that use AI technology to turn photos into videos, but today I’ll be talking about Hedra.
Hedra offers both free and paid versions. The free version provides a set amount of credits each month, allowing you to create videos like the one above within that limit. After signing up and logging in, I started with 400 free credits.
Once you enter, you can easily and quickly sign up using your Google account.
2) Hedra Video Creation Workflow Screen
When you log in to the Hedra website, you will see the Video, Image, and Library menus at the very top.
These are the menus for creating videos and images, respectively, while the library menu is the space where all images and videos you’ve created so far are stored.
I entered the Video menu to create a video.
I plan to create images using AI, embed AI-generated voice into text, and combine the two to produce videos.
To create an image, press the + button in the image frame and select Create image.
3) Creating Images with AI

When creating moving videos from photos, you can certainly upload your own photos, but I tried using images generated by AI.
Image descriptions can be in Korean, but it seems like using English makes the images appear more accurately in the descriptions. You can use Papago or ChatGPT to translate Korean into English and input it.
Then, when you click the red arrow, the image generation process will begin. I tried generating an image of a blonde woman with curly hair giving a presentation in an office.
Personally, I was curious how the curly hair would be rendered, and it seems to have turned out as I expected. If you like the image, just click the Add to video button to transfer it to your video.
By the way, if you really can’t think of an image, there’s an “Inspire me!” button below the text input field. Click it, and it will continuously generate random image descriptions. You can choose one you like from those
, so don’t stress too much about finding an image.
4) Creating Audio with AI
This time, it’s time to create audio for making moving videos from photos. First, go to the main screen for creating videos and select the Audio script + button.
Then you will see three submenus as shown below.
I selected Generate Speech because I wanted to use an AI voice.
Just jot down what you want to say, then select the AI voice and language. If the audio is too long, it might get cut off, so keep it under 20 seconds.
Finally, just like with image editing, please click the Add to video button.
For reference, if you’d like to create your own audio (voice) file, it’s very easy to do on a PC. Please refer to the post below.
5) Creating videos using AI-generated images and audio
You should now see that the audio and images have been added on the main video creation screen. Click the red arrow to create the video.
Your video is being generated. This takes longer than you might expect. In my case, it felt like it took about three minutes. Please wait without touching anything. Each time you
create an image, audio, or video, the credits you received for free will be deducted, so be careful not to waste them. You could end up wasting your precious credits.
Creating a moving video from photos is now complete. If you’d like to save it, simply click the download button above.
As I mentioned earlier, I created this video using the free version.
Hedra Free and Paid Version Pricing
Reading the free version of the plan, it seems to provide 200 credits per month. It appears they give 400 credits upon initial sign-up.
Videos cannot exceed 20 seconds, and additional credits cannot be purchased. Commercial use is also prohibited.
The paid version can be paid for monthly or annually. There appears to be no video length limit, and commercial use is also permitted.
The plan prices above are monthly rates. If you pay annually, it’s even more affordable. Interested parties can make payments below.
Conclusion
Today, I showed you the process of creating moving videos from photos using AI technology. Even with the free version, you can receive 200 credits monthly, which seems like a good deal.
I actually thought it would be helpful for my online business to insert it into YouTube videos, but it seems I’ll have to choose the paid version to do that.
Given how crucial AI technology has become for any online business moving forward, I’ve put together today’s post. I hope it proves at least somewhat helpful to those who read it.
