How to Automatically Generate a Presenter Script for Canva Presentations (2025 Presenter Notes Update)
Good news for PPT presenters among Canva’s 2025 update features. When giving a PPT presentation, you can now use AI to generate your script without writing it yourself. Let’s explore how to automatically generate a presenter’s script in Canva Presentations, significantly reducing the burden of presenting.
Canva Presentation Presenter Notes Update
In the past, creating a presentation required manually inputting content, images, and graphs onto each slide.
However, with AI, we can now create presentation materials with less than a tenth of the effort previously required.
Nevertheless, the fact remains that we still deliver the PowerPoint presentations ourselves. Typically, the standard approach involves reviewing each slide one by one, thinking about what we’ll say, and creating a script. But now, using Canva eliminates the need for that.
During the 2025 Canva update, a feature was introduced that automatically generates speaker scripts for Canva presentations. This has reduced one more item from the long list of things presenters need to prepare before delivering their presentations.
Canva Presentation: Automated Process for Creating Presenters
1) Displaying presentation materials in Canva
First, open Canva and load any presentation material you have. I’ll use the New Zealand Working Holiday Visa guide PPT I created in one go using Gamma AI.
In the lower right corner of the photo above, you can see something labeled “Presenter Notes.” Think of Presenter Notes as memos or notes visible only to the presenter during a PowerPoint presentation.
Of course, those skilled at PowerPoint presentations can deliver smoothly without looking at anything, relying solely on the text displayed on the screen. However, for those unfamiliar with presenting or who get nervous easily, these presenter notes that you can look at and read are extremely important.
2) Canva Presentation: Automatic Presenter Script Generation
After opening the presenter notes, click the Work button to have the AI generate a script for the presenter to read directly on the PPT page displayed on the right.
The presenter can simply proceed with the presentation by referring to this automatically generated script. The reason I like this feature is precisely because there’s no need to write the script myself. Of course, saving that time is also a major advantage.
3) Shorten the automatically generated transcript
When reading the automatically generated script via the Work button, you may occasionally find it too long.
In such cases, pressing the Work button again will reveal the following detailed menu.
When you select the option to shorten the presenter notes, the length of the automatically generated script will be reduced. This is a useful feature when you need to focus on the key points.
Additionally, if you’re not satisfied with the generated script, you can request a complete rewrite using the Text Rewrite menu. There are also options to request a script that is fun or formal, allowing you to create the script style you desire.
4) So how do you use the presenter notes?
Here’s how to use Canva Presentation’s automatic speaker notes generation after it’s fully completed.
As shown in the image above, selecting the topmost Presentation menu will display the Full Screen Presentation, Presenter View, Presentation & Recording, and Auto Play menus.
At this point, select the Presenter View button and then click the Presentation button at the very bottom.
This will display a separate screen showing only the presenter. Then, you can proceed with your presentation while viewing the automatically generated text in the Canva Presentation Presenter Script.
Conclusion
Today we learned how to automatically generate a presenter script for Canva presentations. Though it may seem like no big deal, it’s a very convenient feature that saves time on script writing when you need to quickly put together a PowerPoint presentation.
If you have presentation anxiety, why not take this opportunity to try giving
